How to reduce the quantity of an inventory item (Shrinkage)


Shrinkage involves reducing the quantity count of an inventory item. Any admin with the right access level can perform  ‘Shrinkage’ . Complete the following steps to perform "Shrinkage"


Click on the ‘Update Inventory’ button when viewing the details of an inventory item.



In the pop-up form shown above , Select the checkbox to RECORD AN INVENTORY SHRINKAGE. Select the reason for the shrinkage .




An additional comment field is also provided. Predetermined reasons to choose from includes     Waste during Transit
                     - Spoilt Inventory
                     - Useable Inventory
                     - Overproduction
                     - Poor Portion Control
                     - Others

NOTEClicking on the Save button records the new quantity after shrinkage has been completed as the actual quantity and is recorded on the shrinkage report on the inventory dashboard.



You can also add a new ingredient and a batch in store by clicking on ADD INVENTORY ITEM, this opens up a drawer containing fields to fill in other to add new ingredients item as seen below.





Add new ingredients item which includes Item Name, Category, Brand, Measurement Option, Quantity, Price, Expiry Date, and Low stock quantity-*Low stock quantity;  is used to report when a stock is running low.



Saving this updates new items and quantities on the inventory store.
